2014-15 Format

Girls Format

Division Formation

The NPL seeding committee is responsible for all NPL acceptance/rejection and the creation of the NorCal Girls NPL Fall Divisions. Winter and Spring division placement is determined by the NPL seeding committee and based on Fall League placement. The names of NPL divisions from highest to lowest:

  1. NPL Champions League (Fall)
  2. State Premier 1
  3. State Premier 2
Champion Criteria

The winner of the NorCal NPL Fall Champions League will be the 2014-15 NorCal NPL Champion.

Qualification for 2015-16 Champions League

Teams will qualify for the 2015-16 NorCal NPL Champions League based on placement in Winter and Spring league divisions. The number of spots available for Winter and Spring teams will be determined based on the 2014 NPL Fall League standings.

Relegation Zone

The NorCal NPL will now have a relegation zone in the Winter and Spring. The number of teams being relegated in the Winter and Spring will be determined by the Fall league standings. In most cases, the last place team from the lowest Winter and Spring divisions will need to qualify for the 2015-16 NPL via the NorCal NPL Relegation/Promotion Playoff. All teams above the relegation zone will automatically qualify for the 2015-16 NorCal NPL.

Division Formation

The NPL seeding committee is responsible for all NPL acceptance/rejection and the creation of the NorCal Boys NPL Fall and Winter Divisions. Spring division placement is based on team placement in Fall and Winter divisions. The names of NPL divisions from highest to lowest:

  1. NPL Champions League (Spring)
  2. State Premier 1
  3. State Premier 2
  4. State Premier 3
Champion Criteria

The winner of the NorCal NPL Spring Champions League will be the 2014-15 NorCal NPL Champion.

Spring Division Qualification

U14 Boys

Champions League (8 teams)
The 1st through 5th place teams from Fall Premier 1 West and the 1st through 3rd place teams from Fall Premier 1 qualify for Champions League.

Premier 1 (8 teams)
The 6th through 9th place teams from Fall Premier 1 West and the 4th and 5th place teams from Fall Premier 1 East remain in the Premier 1 division. The 1st place teams from Fall Premier 2 East and West are promoted to Premier 1.

Premier 2 (5 teams)
The 10th place team from Fall Premier 1 West and the 6th place team from Fall Premier 1 East are relegated to Premier 2. The 2nd and 3rd place teams in Fall Premier 2 South and the 2nd place team in Fall Premier 2 North remain in Premier 2.

Premier 3 (9 teams)
The 4th through 9th place teams from Fall Premier 2 South and the 3rd through 5th place teams from Fall Premier 2 North are relegated to Premier 3.

U15 Boys

Champions League (8 teams)
The 1st through 4th place teams from Fall Premier 1 and Winter Premier 1 qualify for Champions League.

Premier 1 (8 teams)
The 5th through 8th place teams from Fall Premier 1 and the 5th and 6th place teams from Winter Premier 1 remain in the Premier 1 division. The 1st and 2nd place teams from Fall Premier 2 are promoted to Premier 1.

Premier 2 (8 teams)
The 9th and 10th place team from Fall Premier 1 and the 7th and 8th place team from Winter Premier 1 are relegated to Premier 2. The 3rd through 6th place teams from Fall Premier 2 remain in Premier 2.

U16 Boys

Champions League (8 teams)
The 1st through 4th place teams from Fall Premier 1 and Winter Premier 1 qualify for Champions League.

Premier 1 (9 teams)
The 5th through 8th place teams from Fall Premier 1 and the 5th through 7th place teams from Winter Premier 1 remain in the Premier 1 division. The 1st and 2nd place teams from Fall Premier 2 are promoted to Premier 1.

Premier 2 (9 teams)
The 9th and 10th place team from Fall Premier 1 and the 8th through 10th place team from Winter Premier 1 are relegated to Premier 2. The 3rd through 6th place teams from Fall Premier 2 remain in Premier 2.

U17 Boys

Champions League (8 teams)
The 1st through 4th place teams from Fall Premier 1 and Winter Premier 1 qualify for Champions League.

Premier 1 (9 teams)
The 5th through 7th place teams from Fall Premier 1 and Winter Premier 1 remain in the Premier 1 division. The 1st and 2nd place teams from Fall Premier 2 are promoted to Premier 1.

Premier 2 (9 teams)
The 8th and 9th place team from Fall Premier 1 and Winter Premier 1 are relegated to Premier 2. The 3rd through 8th place teams from Fall Premier 2 remain in Premier 2.

U19 Boys

Champions League (8 teams)
The 1st through 4th place teams from Fall Premier 1, the 1st through 3rd place teams from Winter Premier 1, and 1st place from Fall Premier 2 qualify for Champions League.

Premier 1 (9 teams)
The 5th through 8th place teams from Fall Premier 1 and the 4th through 6th place teams from Winter Premier 1 remain in the Premier 1 division. The 2nd and 3rd place teams from Fall Premier 2 are promoted to Premier 1.

Premier 2 (9 teams)
The 9th and 10th place teams from Fall Premier 1 and the 7th and 8th place teams from Winter Premier 1 are relegated to Premier 2. The 4th through 8th place teams from Fall Premier 2 remain in Premier 2.

Relegation Zone

The NorCal NPL will now have a relegation zone in the Spring season. All teams above the relegation zone will automatically qualify for the 2015-16 NorCal NPL. Based on standings in the Spring, the following teams will only qualify for the 2015-16 NorCal NPL via the NorCal NPL Promotion/Relegation Play-off:

U14 Boys: The bottom 7 finishers in the Premier 3 division.
U15 Boys: The bottom 2 finishers in the Premier 2 division.
U16 Boys: The bottom 2 finishers in the Premier 2 division.
U17 Boys: The bottom 2 finishers in the Premier 2 division.
